University of Strathclyde Announces Bahrain Campus and Post-Graduate Programme Expansion at Gateway Gulf 2025

Manama, Bahrain – 3 November 2025: S Eleven Educational and the University of Strathclyde, announced the expansion of the university’s facilities and academic programs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.. This advancement includes the development of the university’s campus at Harbour Heights, near Manama, and the launch of innovative postgraduate programs, underscoring their commitment to academic excellence and research innovation in Bahrain.. The announcement was made during the Gateway Gulf Forum 2025, Bahrain’s leading investment forum hosted by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), held on 2-3 November.

Speaking on their joint project to expand the campus, Dr. Abdullah Bader Al-Sada, General Manager of S Eleven Education, said: “We take great pride in our partnership with the University of Strathclyde to create world-class facilities that inspire learning, research, and innovation. This expansion will offer students an environment where theory meets practical application.”

“The University of Strathclyde Bahrain focuses on advancing academic and research excellence within the Kingdom, in a bid to meet the increasing demand for high-quality programs across business, engineering, and science. Not only does this expansion support Bahrain’s broader goals for human capital development, innovation, and economic diversification, but it also positions the University of Strathclyde Bahrain as a key contributor to the Kingdom’s future,” he added.

“The recent expansion of the University of Strathclyde in Bahrain demonstrates the Kingdom’s growing reputation as a hub for higher education and innovation. By nurturing the next generation of innovators, leaders, and skilled professionals, this partnership will strengthen Bahrain’s talent pipeline and support the development of a knowledge-based economy,” said Ali Al Mudaifa, Chief of Business Development at Bahrain EDB.

Starting in 2026, Strathclyde Business School will offer three new master’s degree programs in International Management, Economics, and Finance. Designed to prepare students for leadership roles in a rapidly evolving global economy, the programs will equip them with the critical skills needed to navigate complex business challenges and opportunities, while supporting the development of Bahrain’s knowledge economy.

In addition, the campus expansion project, undertaken in partnership with S Eleven Educational, represents a significant investment in the University’s infrastructure and capabilities. More than 40 new academic and administrative staff have joined the University to support its vision of integrating education with industrial innovation. The project has been carefully designed to extend learning spaces, enhance research infrastructure, and create environments where both students and faculty can thrive.

A cornerstone of the expansion is the introduction of four state-of-the-art laboratories in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, Chemical, and Civil Engineering. These facilities, designed to match the standards of the University’s main campus in the UK, span over 2,000 square meters and provide spaces for hands-on learning, advanced research, and collaborative innovation. With modern equipment, the laboratories exemplify the University’s commitment to fostering student-centered, hands-on learning, bridging theory and real-world practice.

The University continues to provide a comprehensive range of undergraduate programs, including degrees in Business Administration, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, and Software Engineering, nurturing a diverse and skilled student body.
