Manama: The Economic Development Board (EDB) has organized a series of introductory meetings between local businessmen and foreign investors, showcasing Bahrain’s investment environment, highlighting the Kingdom’s open and diverse economy, as well as presenting what the EDB and Tamkeen are able to offer to those looking to invest in the Kingdom.
The meetings were held as part of a series of events surrounding the first MENA Angel Investors Summit organized by Tenmou, which launched in June 1st 2014, with the EDB as a strategic partner. The summit allowed participants to discuss various important issues and topics, as well as the outlook for global entrepreneurship.
The EDB’s support of the summit reflects the Board’s commitment to reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a leading regional center for entrepreneurship and investment. Ms. Vivian Jamal, Executive Director – EDB commented, “This series of meetings allows us to showcase Bahrain’s investment environment, and the unique opportunities available to investors, both in a regional and global sense. The fact that we are able to meet with high-level entrepreneurs from different parts of the world, representing different sectors, reinforces the Kingdom’s position as a center for regional entrepreneurship, and highlights the efforts made by the Kingdom to support entrepreneurs and create various partnership opportunities”.
During the discussions, businessmen and investors were able to present their experiences in the field as well as discuss upcoming projects, along with challenges they are facing both regionally and globally and the opportunities available for further growth and development. Also explored were the climate for entrepreneurship in Bahrain, and the support that is provided by various parties, in both the private, and the public sector, and the initiatives proposed to support entrepreneurs.
The entrepreneurs and investors also viewed presentations by the EDB, Tamkeen, eGovernment, and Almoayed Chambers, allowing the participants to explore the efforts made by private and public sector companies to support investors, as well as the initiatives and projects in place to promote entrepreneurship.
