Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro said yesterday in Bahrain-Japan Business Forum that Japan is Bahrain’s second largest trade partner with a trade volume of over US$3.5bn.

The forum was held in the presence of Japanese Ambassador Shigeki Sumi, Bahraini Ambassador to Japan Dr. Khalil Hassan and a host of ministry and government senior officials, businessmen and members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bahrain.

The state visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Japan last year featured a new milestone for the mutual beneficial prospects for both countries in several areas including industry and trade, energy, investments, services, and technological cooperation said Dr.Fakhro. “The summit meetings with the Emperor of Japan, the Prime Minister, and the joint state level deliberations between the two countries have yielded a valuable Memorandum of Cooperation in manufacturing, small and medium enterprises, space technology, and energy planning, engineering and technology,“ he said. During the visit, Bahrain Business Forum was organised in Tokyo and attended by senior officials and business delegations from both countries.
