Bahrain’s tourism and leisure sector is developing quickly.  For example, there are several major hotel brands already in the market such as Four Seasons, Starwood, Marriott, Wyndham, Accor, and Fairmont, with room to grow for unique hotel concepts.  Major retail centres have been developed by high profile regional investors such as Seef Properties, Majid Al Futtaim, and Al Shaya.   As well, there is ample opportunity for investors within the leisure attraction sub-sector.  With a growing number of young families within the region, Bahrain is ideally positioned to provide products and services for this key demographic.  In addition to these real-estate related developments, we are also home to technology companies which are shaping the world, one example of this is having the regional headquarters for Sabre Travel Network based here in Bahrain for the past 10 years.

Recently the EDB, in collaboration with tourism related stakeholders, developed Bahrain’s new tourism brand: “Ours. Yours. Bahrain” which highlights the genuine hospitality that visitors experience to this authentic Arabian destination.

The country currently has approximately 11 mixed-use development districts that offer investment opportunities for tourism and leisure sector investors.  Please contact the tourism and leisure team at the EDB for further details.
