The EDB issues 2nd Edition of Bahrain’s Legislation
A reference CD that contains all of Bahrain’s laws over the past 70 years
Manama, Economic Development Board: The Economic Development Board (EDB) has issued the second edition of a CD containing all legislation that has been passed within the Kingdom, from the 1930s till July of this year. The new edition titled “Bahrain’s Legislation” includes an updated database and an improved search capability.
The EDB has recognised the need for an accessible database that encompasses all of Bahrain’s laws, and has responded by producing a CD. Bahrain’s Legislation facilitates ease of reference for those interested or requiring guidance and insight into the Kingdoms legislation.
National, international, private and public sector parties are expected to find this resource more relevant than ever because of the recent increase in the number of laws that have been passed since the production of the first edition.
“This CD has been produced in order to assist in the development of new business opportunities, and the opening up of further horizons for investment”, said Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the EDB.
“Recent legislation that has been passed, are focused on the progress and development of Bahrain. By producing this CD, we are creating a business friendly environment, encouraging innovation and the development of new and growth sectors in the economy. This is in line with Economic Vision 2030, which provides a clear direction for the continued development of our economy.”
Shaikh Mohammed also said that the EDB will release future editions of the CD in order to keep it up to date.
Bahrain’s Legislation CD is released in Arabic and includes all the decrees and regulations for Ministries and government departments, plus all international agreements that Bahrain has signed, or is a party to.
The new Edition of the CD contains 7,670 legislation and includes 322 laws, 740 decrees of law, 668 Royal or Emiri Orders, 1,763 decrees, and 4,241 administrative decisions from various government ministries and authorities.
